24HourNation invited Bristol's Night Time Economy Advisor, Carly Heath, to speak as a guest on “Minding The Night” a panel discussion webinar about mental health in the night time economy, and featuring international guests from the night time sector.
Founded by host Randall White in 2022, 24HourNation is a web-based resource for night time advocates who wish to build their knowledge and skills through podcasts, interviews, news and studies conducted around the world.
24HourNation invited Carly alongside guests Ariel Palitz, managing director of hospitality and intergovernmental affairs and former director of New York City Mayor's Office of Nightlife and Eline Van Audenaerde, holistic nightlife coach and advocate for wellness in the electronic music industry. The webinar focused on helping cities, employers and individuals understand what they can do better to mitigate the adverse consequences of working at night.
Carly touched on the public health programs and partners that Bristol Nights and Bristol City Council have developed to support hospitality workers in the city and the positive steps that can be taken to manage stress as a night time worker.
Ariel Palitz discussed topics like governance surrounding harm reduction in the night time economy and the obligations of government departments to fund mental health in the community.
Eline Van Audenaerde spoke about techniques that can be used to manage mental health issues in her focus area of the electronic music sector and the tools that are available to those seeking help in the night time workforce.
